SAMUEL PESNER, O.D.

Born in Hollywood, Dr. Pesner attended UCLA, graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1971 and has practiced in Los Altos since 1982. He has been married to wife Lou since 1978 and has two children, Leah and Brian. Dr. Sam is past president of the Rotary Club of Los Altos and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. The Pesners enjoy travel, photography and good times spent with family and friends.

STEPHEN J. ANDERSON, O.D.

Dr. Stephen Anderson was born and raised in Bend, Oregon and graduated from Pacific University with BS and OD degrees in 1964. He was the first optometrist to serve in Vietnam. Steve settled in Los Altos and started Los Altos Optometric Group in 1969, making 2009 his 40th year practicing in The Village. Dr. Anderson sold his interest in the practice in 2006 to long time partner Sam Pesner but continues to work two days a week, still a passion after all these years.

Steve and his wife Cathy have three daughters, JJ, Brooke & Jordan, a great son-in-law, Tim Elliott and the two most beautiful grandchildren, Miller Grace and Lincoln Roland Elliott.

Dr. Anderson has been committed to volunteering with many organizations over the years including the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, El Camino YMCA, Los Altos Chamber and Los Altos Rotary. In his semi-retirement he has become more involved with these organizations and started donating more of his time to another passion, the environment, by joining the Environmental Commission of Los Altos and serving as Chair. He also has joined and is on the advisory board for Green Town Los Altos.

LADAN MOHTADI, O.D.

Born and raised in California, Dr. Mohtadi graduated from UCLA in 2000 with a degree in Psychological Biology. While at UCLA, she volunteered at the Jules Stein Research Center with renowned researcher and optometrist, Barry A. Weissman, O.D., Ph.D.

In 2004, Dr. Mohtadi received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. Prior to joining our clinic in 2006, Dr. Mohtadi has worked at various private practice locations in the South Bay. She enjoys being back in northern California providing comprehensive eye exams to adults and children. She is an Infant SEE provider, which is a program that offers free exams for infants up to one year of age. She is an active member of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, and the Santa Clara Bahá’í Community.

Dr. Mohtadi enjoys spending time with her husband and family, hiking, playing the piano, traveling and playing with her dog, "Klaus".
